When we speak of service, the service of humanity is supreme. Our gurus preachers and the supreme of souls wanted us human beings to help and serve our fellow beings in need of help, who were weak, unhealthy, emotionally and mentally sick humans. It was In 2016 Bhai Gurpreet Singh decided to reopen a closed Dhaba on G.T. Road Doraha, on rent. Because of compassion in his heart he had a habit to serve the poor since childhood, Bhai Gurpreet used to provide food to the needy free of cost at his Dhaba. It was in may 2016, a young paralytic man collapsed in front of the Dhaba. On seeing the young man in a very pathetic condition Bhai Gurpreet and his friend decided to pick him up, gave him shower, changed his clothes & food to eat. After some time the young man told his name as Arun Kumar Shukla. It was here after Bhai Gurpreet shared few of Arun’s photos on his facebook account so as to locate his family. The post was shared by the people in a big way. Though Arun’s brother came to see him, he denied taking Arun Kumar Shukla back home. On this day Bhai Gurpreet could realise the “power of social media” in helping to identify the ones lying on road sides unattended left to die without medication. Also through social media we can uncover the face of society, administration & dual face of families. With the passage of time such posts touched the compassionate hearts of people across India. So we started receiving messages and calls from other cities and states about the unidentified, miserable, mentally challenged & the ones being eaten away by the maggots in their wounds. Generally Doctors in Hospitals refuse to treat such infected patients Here S. Gurpreet Singh with the help of volunteers started cleaning wounds of maggots. Seeing this the Dhaba owner asked Gurpreet and his friends to vacate Dhaba, as he suspected them because they have opened an NGO. On this S. Gurpreet and his friend decided to shift the members of “Manukhta Di Sewa Sab Ton Waddi Sewa” to village Baranhara in the land of his friend, in tents. By the end of 2019, hundreds of men, women and children were sent home fully recovered from their mental, physical & emotional worst health condition. There were many, who were reunited with their families with the help of social media. In the meanwhile the construction of “Dream House” was in full swing at village Hassanpur. By the end of 2019 we decided to move our members i.e. men, women & children to the dream home “SUPNEYA DA GHAR” of Manukhta Di Sewa Society at village Hassanpur on Ferozepur Road Ludhiana. It’s a beautiful home for the underprivileged, poor, helpless, mentally challenged abandoned by their own families and ones who were held captive as Slaves for over 40 years and so. Gentleman, here the team of volunteers serve the underprivileged members in the best possible way by providing food, medication, bandaging, their utility items and clothing.
